Dear TKC Church Family:
On Thanksgiving Day we provide a meal to the residents of the two Fellowship House locations in Reston. The Fellowship House provides housing to elderly and/or disabled adults. This meal nourishes not only their stomachs but their souls and is a BLESSING to those who receive and those who provide and serve!
But this is a huge endeavor! We served 400+ individuals last year! Much help is needed and there are many ways to serve! You do not have to be chef! You do not have to be available on Thanksgiving Day! Here are some examples of how you can help:
- Serve at Fellowship House on Thanksgiving Day 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM. (Or any portion if you cannot stay the entire time.)
- Provide a HOT dish, ready to serve on Thanksgiving Day to the Lake Anne Fellowship House, no later than 11:00 AM.
- Provide a misc. food item (e.g., pie, cranberry relish, rolls, etc.) and deliver it ahead of time to the church**
- Provide a prepared dish that can be reheated and deliver it ahead of time to the church**
- Donate paper goods (e.g. plates, silverware, etc.) deliver ahead of time to the church**
- Donate funds to help cover costs of food/supplies. (Cash or Check please made out to TKC, reference “Thanksgiving”.)
** All food/supply deliveries not delivered directly to the Fellowship House, must be delivered to TKC NO LATER THAN Wednesday, November 25, 11 AM.
There will be tin foil serving dishes available at church this Sunday (and the following 2 Sundays). These foil containers fit into the chafing dishes used for warming the foods. If you are providing a prepared dish (either ahead of time or at the meal) please deliver your food in these dishes, this will greatly help facilitate those serving the meals.
